This is MicroTrains 52400111 Nose Art Series Car #11. 50′ steel flatcar with 40′ container load, ready to run, USAAC #667495 (Bourbon boxcar, #11 in WWII nose art series). This 60′ flat car is painted navy grey with black lettering and carries a 40′ olive drab container featuring real WWII nose art known as ‘Bourbon Boxcar’. Like many planes in WWII, this B-24J bomber was decorated with custom artwork by its pilot to personalize the plane. The ‘Bourbon Boxcar’ B-24J was part of the 5th Air Force, 6th photo recon group and 20th combat mapping squadron.
